The Northeast Generals, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Brian Chambershas committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at UMass-Lowell in Hockey East.
Chambers, 18, just completed his first season of playing junior hockey with the Generals. The native of Weymouth, Massachusetts, spent the 2016-17 with the Boston Advantage 18U team, as well as, the Generals in the NAHL.
Chambers (6’1/180) recorded four points in 12 games with the Generals during the tail end of the 2016-17 regular season. He scored two goals in his first career NAHL game and debut on March 3, 2017.
In 38 games with the Advantage last season, Chambers recorded 56 points.
Prior to last season, Chambers played high school hockey in Massachusetts for Weymouth High School.
"Brian is a great kid that has worked extremely hard to get this commitment. A year ago he was a standout at Weymouth High School. Last year he then was second in the T1EHL in scoring for the Boston Advantage 18U team. It was an easy decision to tender him and an even easier decision to pull him up for the last 12 games of the season. He showed he can play at a high level in any league with his mix of speed, skill and physicality. He is a special player and young man that we look forward to continuing to wear the Generals logo before heading off to help the River Hawks at UMass-Lowell,” said General Manager Bryan Erikson.
