The Boston Advantage is excited to announce that they have accepted an invitation to join the prestigeous and ultra competitive Tier I Elite Hockey League. Tier I Elite Hockey was formerly known as the Midwest Elite Hockey League (MWEHL). The league is stacked with the strong traditional programs like Little Caesars, Compuware, Team Illinois, Belle Tire, Honeybaked, Chicago Young American, Victory Honda, St.Louis AAA Blues and Pittsburgh Hornets to name a few. The Tier I Elite Hockey League is extremely well scouted by all the Division I Colleges and NHL as well as the USHL, NAHL, EJHL, and BCHL that stresses development.
In the East Region the Advantage will be joined by the Buffalo Regals, Team Comcast and Philadelphia Jr. Flyers as new teams who will partner with the Pittsburgh Hornets to round out the region.
Being selected to join the prestigeous organizations in the Tier I Elite Hockey League is a testament to how hard our first two teams have worked to put us on the map in such a short time. This validates what our organization has done and will encourage all of us to continue improving on what has already been built. We are pleased to have been recognized as one of the top 25 programs in the country with this invitation to join the best league in the country. The inter-regional games and showcases will be jammed packed with exciting uptempo skilled hockey where the competition will be fierce. Our goal will still remain the same as it has been, to develop the players through skill sessions & practices and providing the exposure they want and deserve. This is a terrific opportunity for the players.
Please check our schedule and website over the next few months for details on the upcoming season. We are excited and honored to be a member of the Tier I Elite Hockey League. If interested in learning more about the program email us at info@bostonadvantagehockey.com.

Nick Jasset Accepts Davis Scholarship Will enroll at The Lawrenceville School as a Post Graduate Student-Athlete
Nick Jasset has decided to enroll at the prestigious Lawrenceville School where he will be the Post-Grad student-athlete for the Big Red. Nick embodies the true definition of student-athelete. Nick came to us on a recommendation and made the team out of our tryout camp last spring. In 30 games for us this past season he had a solid year with a 2.55 gaa, .919 sv% and 3 shutouts. He had a couple of big wins for us throughout the year as well. In the classroom, Nick is an honors student at Thayer Academy that scored extremely high on his SATs & SAT II's When deciding what was best for Nick it was clear that being a student-athlete at a school like Lawrenceville was the way to go. Through Nick's hard work in the classroom & on the ice he was awarded the renowned Davis Scholarship. The award is given to only a very select few at the Lawrenceville School. This provide a great deal of financial assistance for his PG year at the school but also rewards his hard work at the college level offering him a significant financial award to help him pay for each of his four years of college. Nick, being the respectful & nice young man that he is, impressed the Hockey Coach, Admissions Officer and the other high level school administration he met on his visit a few weeks back. In speaking with Coach Bilodeau I know he is excited to have Nick between the pipes for him next season and Nick as part of the school's community.
We are happy to have had Nick in our program this past year. He is a good kid with a very bright future. Congratulations to Nick and his family. We wish him luck as he looks to be a student-athlete at an IVY league or NESCAC school in the near future. ___________________________________________________
Rhode Island Pair Make College Choices
The Boston Advatage is proud to announce that captain Mike DiCenso has committed to Trinity College and Bryan Luther has committed to St.Anselm College.
DiCenso is a two year player with the Advantage and has come a long way. He picked Trinity after going down on a visit where he met with the coaching staff and had the chance to experience a night on campus. Mike is a terrific young man who epitomizes the definition of student-athlete. Coach Cataruzolo and Coach Greason watched Mike a few times this past year and encouraged Mike to apply early decision. It turned out to be a great decision. Mike was an honors graduate of LaSalle Academy making him a terrific candidate for admission at a top school like Trinity. In two season with the Advantage Mike played in 104 games and had 9 goals 27 assist for 36 points. Mike is a reliable steady defensive defenseman who stands 6'3.5" and weights 205lbs. We are excited for Mike knowing how hard he works in the classroom, on the ice and in the weight room. Mike was a terrific leader for us and we are positive he will bring that with him to Trinity. The future is bright for Mike. Congrats!
Bryan Luther joined the Advantage this past summer on a recommendation from his close friend, Mike DiCenso. Bryan didn't disappoint. Bryan showed up every night! He is a smooth skating tough player who chipped in 12 goals 23 assists in 57 games this season. Bryan plays extremely big and physical for someone of his size. Coach Seney is excited to be bringing in someone with a consistent high energy level who can play and contribute in all situations. Bryan is an easy going kid who works hard. Bryan is a gamer. He was a pleasure to coach and to get to know. St.Anselm and Bryan's personality are a terrific match. Congrats!
DiCenso and Luther join Peter DeAngelo, who accepted a scholarship to UMASS-Amherst for 2010 earlier this season, in making their college choice this season. |
